My Client develops and manufactures unique, innovative, quality, added value food products for its customer operating at sites in the UK and East Asia. 

Main Responsibilities:
Together we are looking to recruit a Technical/Process Manager who will have primary responsibility to provide a confident and comprehensive technical liaison and management to their key customers. You will be required to develop close and beneficial relationships with the key stakeholders in their customer base. 

We are looking for an experienced Process Technologist who has moved into a more Technical driven role, to manage and deliver our technical commitment with one of the UK’s largest retailers. You must manage and generate key technical information expected by the customer, and you are required to ensure successful NPD delivery and demonstration of their compliance and due diligence. You must have the experience ad ability to liaise daily with the customer’s technical team, whilst developing and maintaining paperwork systems with development testing in line with the required development critical path.

The successful individual will work as a key member of a global team and proactively propose solutions that address the customers’ highest priorities and development requirements. All of this must be achieved within partnership with a Technical team and factory located in East Asia.  The primary measures of performance are successful customer liaison, timely launch, technical compliance and demonstration of due diligence, technical delivery to the Critical Path requirements and completion of customer technical systems.

You will also be expected to support, and visit the site in East Asia circa 2 times per year. Customer process paperwork must be owned and generated in the UK by the successful applicant, whilst relying on input from the team in East Asia. In addition to this our Client run a pick and pack operation in the midlands, and it’s expected this role will support the Planning & Logistics manager with audit and compliance.

Key Skills Required:
The successful candidate will be a graduate of Food Technology and demonstrate high knowledge of documented compliance delivery. Knowledge of the food industries in which they operate, with Customers Values and Technical processes in mind.

Job Title: QA Manager

My client who is based in the south west is looking to recruit a QA Manager to join their chilled food manufacturing business.

Main Responsibilities:
To support the business in all food safety and quality aspects throughout their stores, processing, high care and collation zones.
The management and development of quality auditors will ensure delivery of KPI data and front line audit schedules.
To bring a consistency to the Technical department functions and provide the whole business with timely, clear communications on all food safety and quality issues via a robust set of KPI metrics which are completed accurately and in a timely manner
To manage the auditor team to complete auditor tasks
To build schedules for all QA routine tasks and assure compliance.
Determine the correct technical KPI’s for business and internal department
Design systems for easy collection of data and sharing of results
Initiate actions to correct non conformances or downward trends on KPI’s
Help maintain policies & procedures (input on content and training)
Aid formulation of budgets and control spends for area of responsibility
Deputise for Technical Manager
Support Technical Department with internal audits of the Site QMS
Help represent external auditor and customer visits to site and off site
To rapidly respond to customer needs with all matters relating to food safety and quality

Key Skills Required:
QA Team Management experience, preferably over a 24/7 cover period
Minimum 2 years experience in a high care chilled food environment
Food related education/qualification
Retailer exposure
Demonstrable skills in compliance to Code of Practise and BRC standards
Strong communication and organisation skills

Job Title: QA Food Technologist

My client is looking to recruit a QA Food Technologist to join their London based chilled food manufacturing company.

Main Responsibilities:
Provide Technical support to the site by providing solutions to technical issues, and ensuring daily compliance to Quality Management System, Customer Specification & COP, Legal Requirements, and Food Safety Standards.
Review and Interrogate all site Technical KPI’s on a weekly basis, analyse trends, investigate any KPI failures/trends, where relevant to area of responsibility.
Communicate all issues to relevant operational teams and agree robust and sustainable corrective actions. Re-audit corrective actions to ensure loop is closed.
Carry out full complaint investigation on all complaints received, applicable to area of responsibility, to customer COP, within 7 working days.
Carry out any OOS, Recall, EPW, Nearmiss, or QAS Failure investigations, applicable to area of responsibility, within 7 working days.
Complete all factory audits as appropriate to operational area of responsibility, to agreed audit schedule, agree corrective actions with operational team and ensure loop is closed through re-audit.
Working in partnership with operations teams, drive Technical Standards within operational area of responsibility.

Key Skills Required:
Food science degree or equivalent
Knowledge of HACCP systems
Experience using quality management system
Experience of specific customer’s technical requirements
Experience of working within a chilled food environment
Team working and leadership skills
Organisational and planning skills
Able to communicate effectively at all levels
Demonstrable problem-solving ability
Experience of managing a successful team in a manufacturing environment

To identify and deliver (manage the delivery) of strategic technical initiatives and to take accountability for key technical workstreams.

Sourcing & developing suppliers to deliver the strategic needs of the Business.

Key Skills Required:
Degree level qualification in appropriate Food related subject, for example Food Science, Food Technology or equivalent.
Proven track record of operating as a Technical Manager within the food or drink industry across any category area within either a manufacturing, foodservice or retail environment.
Excellent project management & organisation skills.
Ability to work cross functionally with the other key areas of the business & drive strategy so you need good teamwork skills too.
Strong commercial awareness & good communication skills.
Self starter, lateral thinker with the ability to work well under pressure.
Creative approach and passion for food.
