Description

Our Client is a leading food manufacturer with sites across the UK, together we are looking for a Process Technologist to join their team.

Main Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for the scale up of new recipes from Kitchen to factory, will commission, verify and accept new products and equipment, whilst creating and improving safe and efficient processes for the production of high quality added value products. As Process Technologist you must proactively manage and improve factory processes for both new and existing products and support the sites with process input and provision of data for continuous improvement initiatives.
You will need to proactively monitor raw materials, process and finished product quality data to identify opportunities and to recognise changes.
It is essential that you lead and contribute process problem solving and provide hands on training to process technicians during change (e.g. post development or capital projects), supported by appropriate procedures.

Key Skills Required:

You must have an understanding of equipment and food manufacturing processes
Experience in working in a food factory environment
Using spreadsheets/Computer literate
Ability to work at a high level of accuracy and under pressure to manage multiple projects/work streams.
It is desirable that you have a qualification in a Food related subject and/or qualification in process engineering Good Project Management Skills
HACCP knowledge/experience
Food hygiene certificate

 


 

Job Title: Packaging Technologist

Salary: 40-45,000pa

Description

Working within the Innovation & Product Development team for a highly ambitious FMCG organisation with an expectation of high growth plans. In this position the candidate will be responsible for driving the packaging agenda in line with business objectives, to include trend and technology identification, supplier liaison, and the identification, control and validation of new packaging solutions. This role covers two sites for brand, private brand and other co-manufacturers.

Main Responsibilities:

Know and share key packaging trends and technology, by developing an appropriate network of industry experts.
Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with key suppliers, which will advantage the companys current and future pack agenda.
Drive the technical agenda for packaging, liaising closely with the procurement, operations and technical teams. Generate packaging solutions in response to given briefs brand, private brand, co-pack and business efficiency working closely with innovation, marketing, commercial, customers and procurement.
Work closely with innovation and marketing to develop new packaging concepts, and successfully implement with the technical and operations teams.

Key Skills Required:

A good degree in an appropriate technical or scientific subject or a packaging technology qualification.
Must have pack technology experience of at least 5 years in the food industry. Knowledge of some of glass, plastic, flexibles and/or paper technologies would be preferable.
Knowledge of packaging waste regulations would be an advantage.
Good communicator with demonstrable experience of working collaboratively, including at senior management level.
Ability to think creatively with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Can work autonomously.
Can demonstrate energy with a can do attitude.
